Nigeria Face Puerto Rico in Crucial U-17 World Cup Clash Today
The Akeem Busari-led side must respond after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Poland in their opening fixture, while Puerto Rico are also looking to recover from a 6-0 loss to Korea DPR.

Nigeria’s Flamingos will seek their first victory at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup when they face Puerto Rico in their second Group B match in Morocco on Tuesday.
The Akeem Busari-led side must respond after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Poland in their opening fixture, while Puerto Rico are also looking to recover from a 6-0 loss to Korea DPR.
Against Poland, Wiktoria Skrzypczak opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute before Natalia Skrok doubled the lead in the 65th minute.

Oluebube Umejiaku pulled one back for Nigeria in the 79th minute following an assist from substitute Kanyinsola Yusuf, but the Flamingos could not find an equaliser.
Nigeria will need to improve their finishing and defensive organisation against Puerto Rico to boost their chances of advancing to the Round of 16.
Puerto Rico, making their first-ever appearance at a FIFA World Cup at any level, will equally be eager to secure their first points after their heavy opening defeat.
The tournament format allows the top two teams in each group and the four best third-placed teams to progress to the Round of 16.
A victory would strengthen Nigeria’s qualification hopes, while another setback could leave their campaign in danger ahead of their final group match.
