The Federal Government has re-arraigned the alleged fake Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Federal Government has re-arraigned the alleged fake Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Adeyemi was re-arraigned on Thursday on a 22-count charge bordering on forgery, false personation as a public servant, and fraud.
He was earlier arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja on September 30 on a seven-count charge, which was later withdrawn on October 12 by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF), Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), who said the prosecution planned to move the case before the FCT High Court.
In the new charge being prosecuted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Adeyemi is accused of obtaining over N27 billion to start the fake agency and N3.8 billion for personnel costs by forging documents.
According to the ICPC, he forged documents addressed to the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, appointing him as DG, and to the Accountant-General of the Federation to obtain self-accounting status for the non-existent agency.
The commission also accused him of forging documents to the DG of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to obtain a domain name, and illegally occupying office facilities at the Federal Secretariat Complex Phase III.
He is further accused of gifting N210,000 to an official in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to facilitate office allocation, and N300,000 to an officer in the Office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the President to facilitate the release of two official vehicles.
The ICPC also alleged that on July 29, 2025, he collected N20 million from the Managing Director of Divine Dopacy Nigeria Limited under the false pretence of a "project facilitation loan" for a purported N2.8 billion contract for furniture and renovation of the DG's official residence.
The defendant pleaded not guilty. Justice Halilu Yusuf adjourned till November 9 for commencement of trial and hearing of bail application, after rejecting an oral bail application by defence counsel, Ibrahim Angulu (SAN), and ordering him to file a written application.
