Terrorists have gunned down prominent Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka, in Katsina State.

Masussuka is widely regarded as the leading voice preaching religious moderation and tolerance in Northern Nigeria at present.

His arch rivals are the JIBWIS and other Salafist groups whom he has been at loggerheads with for differing with their creeds.

The death of Masussuka is a great loss to all believers of peace, tolerance and religious moderation not only in Nigeria but beyond.
