President Bola Tinubu has performed the lesser Hajj, Umrah, in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, offering prayers for peace, unity and stability in Nigeria.
Tinubu performed the spiritual exercise early Friday at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram, where he circled the Holy Ka’abah in worship and thanksgiving to Almighty Allah.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the pilgrimage was significant to his commitment to Nigeria and the responsibilities of his office.
President Tinubu said he was grateful for the opportunity to perform Umrah and pray for the country and its people.
He also sought Allah’s guidance for Nigeria’s leaders, national harmony and lasting relief from insecurity and other challenges facing the country.

“I am grateful to Allah for being able to perform this Umrah. We have just prayed for our nation, for everyone to live in peace and harmony, happiness and faith in God Almighty,” the President said.
He expressed hope that Nigeria would continue to make progress in economic prosperity, social development and security.

The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous country where citizens can live in safety and dignity, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.
