Super Eagles name young squad ahead of qualifiers

Nigeria's national team has named a squad with six uncapped players for the upcoming qualifiers, the clearest sign yet that the coaching staff are building for the next tournament cycle.

Several of the new names have impressed in European second divisions and in the domestic league this season.

Experience still counts

The squad keeps a core of senior players in defence and midfield, a balance the staff say is needed for away fixtures in difficult conditions.
