NIGERIA: INEC Says 116,745 PVCs Remain Uncollected in Lagos State
The commission's Administrative Secretary in Lagos, Adenike Tadese, revealed this on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that 116,745 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) belonging to newly registered voters remain uncollected in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The commission's Administrative Secretary in Lagos, Adenike Tadese, revealed this on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Tadese said INEC received 177,295 PVCs for eligible residents who registered during Phase One of the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
She explained that, according to the commission's weekly update as of Monday, only 60,550 cards had been collected, leaving 116,745 yet to be picked up.
The INEC official urged registered voters to collect their cards to enable them to participate in the 2027 general elections.
She disclosed that the uncollected PVCs were available at INEC's local government offices across Lagos State.
Tadese emphasised that PVC collection must be done personally by the registered owners, adding that collection through representatives or proxies was not permitted.
"The cards are available for collection by their owners, not by proxy, at the various local government offices of the commission in Lagos," she said.
She also called on stakeholders to encourage previously registered voters who had yet to collect their PVCs, as well as those who participated in the 2025 registration exercise, to visit the commission's offices.
According to her, PVCs belonging to eligible residents who registered during the 2026 CVR exercise would soon be ready for collection.
Tadese further urged voters to maintain orderliness during the collection process and appealed to political parties, stakeholders and other political actors to ensure peaceful and orderly campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections.
She reaffirmed INEC's commitment to conducting free, fair and credible elections in Lagos State.
