Spanish footballer Jesús de Miguel has died at the age of 30 after sustaining serious injuries in a collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono during a Spanish second-division match.
His club, CD Tenerife, confirmed his death in a statement released on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., expressing sadness over the tragic loss.

“From CD Tenerife, we announce the tragic passing, this Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., of Jesús de Miguel Alameda.
“No words can ease the pain, nothing can lessen this great feeling of sadness. Our thoughts are with the family, his close friends and Tenerife fans, who today are grieving over this terrible news,” the club said.
De Miguel suffered a cardiac arrest after colliding with Owono while challenging for the ball during the closing minutes of Monday's encounter at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López.

The forward was reportedly struck in the chest during the incident and immediately received medical attention before being rushed to the Hospital Universitario de Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Santa Cruz.
The match was subsequently abandoned following the incident.
Tenerife initially announced on Monday that the player was in a stable condition despite the severity of his injuries and was receiving treatment in the hospital's intensive care unit.
However, the club later disclosed that his neurological condition had deteriorated, raising concerns about his recovery.

Despite efforts by medical personnel, De Miguel died on Tuesday morning.
The 30-year-old began his professional football career in 2015 with Leganés B before representing eight other clubs in Spain.
He joined Tenerife last year and had continued his football career with the club until the tragic incident.
His death has plunged his club, teammates and supporters into mourning.
